Touchable hologram – Fairy Lights holograms with the Femto Laser
The future of holography
We have summarized all the important information about the Fairy Lights hologram for you here.
Japanese researchers have developed a laser that generates a free-floating hologram in the air and provides haptic feedback when touched.
A brief overview can be found here.
How the Fairy Lights holograms are created
A few quadrillionths of a second.
That’s how long it takes for the laser developed by Yogi Ochiachi and researchers from the Digital Nature Group to create a hologram.
And this is how it works: the laser shoots pulses that ionize the air molecules.
They emit energy in the form of points of light and condense into a mixture of positive and negative particles, known as plasma.
Before the viewer can even bat an eyelid, they are presented with a free-floating, three-dimensional hologram that they can admire from all sides.
Holography you can touch
Anyone who touches the hologram called ‘Fairy Lights Hologram’ receives haptic feedback in the form of small plasma pressure waves.
These shock waves are perceived as vibrations.
In addition, the shape of the femto hologram also changes when touched.
This is made possible by a camera mounted under the hologram that registers touch, which is followed by a pre-programmed reaction from the laser.
For example, a holographic heart can break when touched, the lettering ‘Love’ can be changed to ‘Hate’ or a holographic checkbox can be given a tick.
Hologram projectors are available in various sizes, which are optimally adapted to different applications and products.
3D holograms impress with their versatility.

Then impress your audience with the holograms from Magic Holo!
3 systems.
3 times wow.
With all 3 systems, the viewer does not need glasses and can see the hologram directly.
All the systems are mainly used as eye-catchers at trade fairs, events or functions.
However, museums and industrial companies from various sectors also use holographic systems to explain complex topics in a way that is easy to understand.
Very striking and innovative.
AND, above all, without any additional AR glasses.
